NSCT ✶ Est. 1977
At the Village Hall in Sheriff Hutton, near York, members brought along their own collections, and items they wanted to know more about.
Show and tell
The morning was spent looking at everything on display and talking to the owners. In the afternoon, owners of some of the most interesting pieces spoke about them, and others asked questions about items whose use or origins were a mystery. Experts in the room were often able to fill in the gaps.
Cake
Lunch was provided by the ladies of Sheriff Hutton and was, as usual, delicious. The highlight of the day was the cutting of our 25th anniversary cake, baked and iced with our logo by Margaret Cullingworth.
Why we do roadshows
Roadshows give members the chance to meet and talk in a more relaxed setting than a day with a speaker or a museum visit. They have been part of our programme ever since.
